Dotson Whitfield Shelby Dotson Whitfield Shelby, 83, Adams, TN, died Monday, January 7, 2008, at Centennial Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 11 am Thursday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Rev. Jan Harlow officiating. Burial will be in Owens Chapel Cemetery, Springfield, TN. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday and from 9 am until the hour of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born August 24, 1924 in Woodlawn, TN son of the late Albert Shelby and May Hodge Shelby. He was a member of Jordan Springs Baptist Church. He was the former owner of Jordon Springs General Store and was a farmer. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Edwards Shelby;daughter, Belinda Heard, Springfield; and a granddaughter, Allana Grace Heard. He was preceded in death by a sister, Estelle Shelby Hatcher. Pallbearers will be Al Slate, Jimmy Slate, Howard Kirby, John Foster, Wes Foster, Mike Wilson, Bobby Smith, and Jimmy Mixon.
