LOWELL - Norma E. (Powers) Lynch, 84, a resident of Lowell, and formerly a resident of Dracut, died Monday, January 7th, 2007 in Lowell General Hospital after a long illness. She was the loving wife of the late William B. Lynch who died in 1983.
She was born on August 1st, 1923 in Boston a daughter of the late James and the late Helen (Gaffney) Powers and was educated in Boston schools.
Mrs. Lynch was employed by the Teradyne Company where she worked as a quality control inspector in Lowell and Nashua for 15 years, until her retirement.
In her free time she enjoyed arts and crafts, especially crocheting and sewing. Mrs. Lynch was an avid rare antique doll collector.
She is survived by her son, William Lynch and his wife Virginia of Dracut; three daughters, Norma E. Descheneaux and her husband Joseph M. of Lowell, Sharon McMahon of Lowell, and Kathleen Langlais and her husband Paul W. of Dracut; three sisters, Helen Andella and her husband Dominic of Hudson, NH, Loretta Lavalle of Cambridge, and Marcella Smith of Ashburnham; eight grandchildren, Brian Descheneaux, Keith Descheneaux and his wife Kerri, Erin Lynch, Meghan Lynch, Kristen McMahon, Jared Langlais, Katie Langlais, and Courtney Langlais; three great grandchildren, Kristopher McMahon, Kayla Alden, and Elizabeth Descheneaux; many nephews and nieces.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT on Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Her funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 AM in St. Mary Magdalen Church in Dracut. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery in Tewksbury. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made in her name to the National Parkinson Disease Foundation, Inc., 1501 N.W. 9th Avenue / Bob Hope Road, Miami, Florida 33136-1494 or to the charity of the donors choice.
