Obituary

Clinton E.Gustafson, 86, formerly of Glocester, died Saturday at the Haven Health Center in Greenville. He was the husband of Barbara (Tibbetts) Gustafson.
Born in Boston, a son of the late Hjalmar and Mary (Sweet) Gustafson.
Mr. Gustafson was a World War II Navy Veteran. He ran his own Landscape Construction Company until 1972 and was the Highway Commissioner for the Town of Glocester until his retirement in 1987. He had been a volunteer with the Greenville Fire Department, a member of the American Legion Post in Smithfield, a member of the Glocester Lions and Glocester Housing Authority. He was a Mason, a past-president and member of the Glocester Heritage Society and had served on the Glocester Town Council.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Deborah Rowley of Greenville and Maureen Gustafson of Barrington; a son, Alan Gustafson of Glocester; four sisters, Kathleen Kellerman of Sarasota, FL, Holly Hennigan of West Yarmouth, MA, Barbara St. Jean and Louise Devine and a brother, William Gustafson all of Greenville, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Jane Masso.
Memorial service Thursday at 12pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
