Obituary

WORCESTER__Katherine “Kay” L. Langevin, 91, formerly of 136 Farrar Ave, died January 5 in Christopher House, 10 Mary Scano Dr. Her husband, William P. Langevin, Sr. died in 1999.

She leaves two sons, William P. Langevin and his wife Candace of North Grafton and Richard P. Langevin and his wife Janet of Auburn; 5 grandchildren, Lori Yard of Paxton; Mark Langevin of Hubbardston; John Langevin of Spencer; twins, Michelle Sylwanovicz of Webster and Melissa Brindle of Auburn; 3 step grandchildren, Peter Booth of Maynard; Dawn Booth-Desmarais of South Grafton and Scott Booth of Levinworth, KS., a brother, Michael “Mickey” Mard and his wife Claire of Worcester;14 great-grandchildren, 6 great step grandchildren, 1 great great-granddaughter, several nieces and nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by two brothers, Leo Mard, Sr. and Francis Mard, three sisters, Helen Kangas, Ann Vieraitis and Mae Faucher and a granddaughter, Lisa Paulhus. Kay was born in Worcester, a daughter of Frank A. and Catherine (O’Grady) Langevin and lived here all her life.

Mrs. Langevin was a cashier at the former A & P Market and worked 15 years at White Cleaners, both at Rice Square, before retiring in 1978. She was educated in Worcester. Kay was a lifelong member of St. Stephen’s Church. She resided at Notre Dame du Lac Assisted Living for the past two years where she enjoyed the friendship of many residents. It was here she called "home". The Langevin family is grateful for all the care and devotion she received at Christopher House. Those who truly loved her had her love reciprocated ten fold.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday January 9 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10:00 am in St. Stephen Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday January 8 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christopher House Activity Fund, 10 Mary Scano Dr., Worcester, MA 01605.
