Obituary

AUBURN-Kenneth Raymond Gauvin, 75, of Whispering Pines, formerly of Sutton, died Saturday, January 5th at home. He leaves his loving wife and caretaker of 37 years, Nancy R. (Butler-McElroy) Gauvin; A brother, Robert Gauvin and his wife Lou of South Grafton; his children, K. Mark Gauvin of New York, Debra L. Miller of Dudley, Lynnette M. Lanciault and her husband Gerald of Leicester, Cheryl A. Pekala and her husband Steve of Oxford, Ronald K. Gauvin of Tennessee, William F. McElroy and his wife Donna of Spencer, Wendy L. Slingo and her husband George of Dudley; a daughter-in-law, Donna McElroy-Routhier and her husband Chris of North Brookfield; a brother-in-law, Donald Butler and his wife Pauline of Oxford; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Betty Gauvin and a son, Francis “Rick” P. McElroy predeceased him.

Mr. Gauvin was born in Worcester, the son of Eugene and Jeannette (Roy) Gauvin. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War and was a member of the Dudley-Gendron American Legion Post 414, Sutton. Kenneth worked as a construction supervisor for the past 30 years for P.W. Brown Inc. of Westborough. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, feeding and watching birds and cookouts with family and friends as well as vacationing in Florida, Maine and New Hampshire.

The funeral is Wednesday, January 9th with a service at 10:30 A.M. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Tuesday, January 8th from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or contributions may be made to the Worcester County Food Bank, 474 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
