Obituary

Libardoni, Dorothy Theresa (Knight), age 74, died peacefully at her Medford home January 21, 2003, while surrounded by family after a lengthy illness.

She was the loving wife of 53 years of Frank W. Libardoni with whom she married on April 30, 1949 at St. Joseph’s Church in Somerville.

She was born in Somerville on January 10, 1929, a daughter, to the late John F. and Ellen C. (Creamer) Knight. She has resided in Medford for 19 years formerly of Somerville. Dorothy was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Medford and active in the Middlesex Musical Arts Society of Arlington. She also enjoyed such pastimes as listening to classical music and playing the piano. Her love for music was evident in that Dorothy even volunteered her time teaching youngsters how to play the piano.

After lovingly raising her five children, Dorothy worked as a social worker for 13 years for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and also worked at Tufts University in the registrar’s office as a data coordinator.

Funeral from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, MEDFORD, Saturday at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Joseph’s Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday from 2-4 & 6-9PM Interment will be private. Donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.

Besides her beloved husband Frank W. Libardoni, Dorothy is survived by her five loving children, F. William Jr. and his wife MaryEllen Libardoni of Woburn, Robert T. Libardoni of Dedham, Richard J. Libardoni and his long time companion, Julie Lennon, both of Somerville, Alan K. and his wife, Sheryl Libardoni of Brattleboro, VT and Dennis G. Leary of Panama City, FL. She is the devoted sister of W. Edmund Knight of Newton, John F. Knight of Medford, Captain Arthur M. Knight of Hull, Margaret Crean of Salem, and the late Eleanor Knight Donahue. Cherished grandmother of Carl, David, Eric and Alex Libardoni and Michelle, Theresa, and Dennis Leary, Jr., and Kristie and Alexandria Samaras. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
