In Taunton, January 3, 2008 George Phillips died at Morton Hospital at the age of 88. George was the husband of Julie M. (Borella) Phillips both residents of Raynham for the last 46 years. Born in dighton George was the son the the late Joseph and Mary (Costa) Phillips. George was retried from Sears as a Repair Man in Providence RI. George was a U.S. Army, WWII veteran of the 24th division when Pearl Harbor was attacked. He was a member of the D.A.V. and St. Vincent DePaul in Raynham at St. Ann’s Church. George was the Father of Mary Joyce Phillips of East Taunton, Nora Sargent and her husband James of Raynham, George Phillips Jr. and his wife Benadyne of Nuevo CA and Ronald Phillips of Raynham. Grandfather of Sarah Castro and her husband Todd of Norton, Jennifer Sargent of Raynham, Reyna and Rebecca Phillips both of Rochester NY. Great Grandfather of Johnny DeAngelo of Raynham. Funeral will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Tuesday January 8th at 10am. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ann’s Church in Raynham at 11am. Calling hours will be on Monday from 4-8pm. Interment Pleasant Street Cemetery in Raynham. In lieu of flowers donations in George’s memory may be made to St. Ann’s Church, P.O.
