Wanda Youmans Sumner, 62, of Tifton died Thursday, January 3, 2008, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2008, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Bill Barksdale and Rev. Ralph Summerlin will officiate with burial to follow in Lawrence Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Busbin, James Montgomery, Randy Rhiner, Herman Evans, Jason Clayton and Al Potts. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 6, 2008, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Sumner was born on January 15, 1945 in Valdosta and was the daughter of Earl M. Youmans and Inez Harnage Youmans, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by one son, Andrew "Chopper" Summerlin; and one brother, Travis Youmans. She was retired from the shipping department at Fitzgerald Underwear and was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church.
Mrs. Sumner is survived by her husband, William James "Jimmy" Sumner, Jr. of Tifton; one son, Gary Ben Summerlin of Tallahassee, Florida; two daughters, Tammy Bennett of Tifton and Marsha Summerlin of Mount Vernon, Ohio; one brother, Tim Youmans of Nashville; one sister, Marie Miller of Tallahassee, Florida; four grandchildren, Nikki Henderson, Timothy Adams, Kristina Adams and Felicia Summerlin; and three great grandchildren.
