Edward Lawrence Goodlett Edward Lawrence Goodlett, 73, Clarksville, died Thursday, January 3, 2008, at his residence. The funeral will be held at 10:30 am Saturday at First Baptist Church of Clarksville in the Faith Sanctuary with Dr. Roger Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm today at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born March 26, 1934 in Montgomery County son of the late Frank L. Goodlett and Sue Ely Goodlett. He was formerly a partner in Goodlett Realtors and Insurors. At the time of his death he was working with Rubel, Halliburton, and Northington Insurance Agency. He had served as President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, President of Kentucky-Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross, President of Insurors of Clarksville, President of Clarksville Board Realtors, member of the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce and he was a member of the Clarksville Downtown Civitan Club for over 40 years. Mr. Goodlett was a graduate of Austin Peay State University and was past president of the Alumni Association. He served in the US Army and was a member of First Baptist Church of Clarksville where he served as a deacon. He is survived by his wife Janelle Mason Goodlett, daughters, Jan G. Battles (Beau); and Marti G. Slagle (Randall); a brother, Frank G. Goodlett (Julia); grandchildren: Taylor and Riley Battles and Randy and Kaleigh Slagle all of Clarksville. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Dunn, Tom Gresham, Roger Halliday, Brown Harvey, Jr., Dr. D.W. (Bill) Howard, Jack
Miller, Dr. David Morton, Mike Northington, Judge John Peay, and Jerry Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Downtown Civitan Club.
