Obituary

AUBURN-Laurie C. Weagle, 79, of 77 Pakachoag Village and formerly of Linda Avenue died Saturday, January 18 in the St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center, Worcester after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 59 years, Irene R. (Perry) Weagle; a son, Joel Weagle of North Oxford; two daughters, Joyce Parker and Janet Barrows both of Auburn; four brothers, Max and Carroll Weagle both of Auburn, Henry Weagle of Worcester and Gary Weagle of Rutland; two sisters, Irene Parenteau of Auburn and Shirley West of Charlton; seven grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

He was born in Auburn, the son of the late Charles and Helen (Weagle) Weagle and lived here all of his life. He graduated from Auburn High School later served with the US Navy during World War II.

Mr. Weagle worked for 27 years for the Parker Manufacturing Company, Worcester.He was an avid gardener and loved woodworking. He was known for his wooden windmill creations.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, Jan 23 at 10 AM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., (www.brittonfuneralhomes.com) Auburn. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial park, Paxton.Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, Jan. 22 from 5-8 PM.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 710 West 168th Street, NY, NY 10032-9982.or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
