Louise Vines Champion, age 92, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, Mississippi. She was born to the late Dodie and Nona Tutor Vines in Calhoun County, MS. She was nurse who retired from the Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Yalobusha County.
The visitation will be held Friday, January 4, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, January 5, 2008 in Bethel Baptist Church in Yalobusha County, MS and will be conducted by Bro. James Edwards. The committal will be held in Bethel Cemetery.
Mrs. Champion is survived by her daughter, Bessie Faye Tutor (Atlas Earl) of Water Valley, MS; a son, Danny Champion (Lily) of Memphis, TN; a half-sister, Carlene Mason of Minnesota; four grandchildren, Tara Elizabeth Dubose-Schmitt of Madison, AL, Lori Allyson Kerns of Madison, AL, Angela Faye Siebring of Ashkum, IL, and Larry DeLane Bolen of Niceville, FL; eight great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Champion was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Daniel Champion (Sept. 19, 1999); a sister, Tera Waugh; and a half-sister, Marie Higginbotham.
