Mrs. Kathleen C. (Fitzgibbons) DeVeer of Medford, beloved wife of the late Richard S. DeVeer, died on Monday, December 31, 2007. She was 93 years old.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on December 3, 1914, she was the beloved daughter of the late John F. and Mary A. (Kearney) Fitzgibbons. Kay was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1931 and also the Burdett School in Boston and Portia Law School. She was an active and devoted member of St. James Parish in Medford and a member of the women’s guild as well as in the St. James Book Club.
She will be lovingly remembered by her five children; Rev. Richard S. Deveer of St. Francis Xavier Church in Weymouth, John F. and his wife Jean DeVeer of Dunwoody, Georgia, Rosemary A. DeVeer of Falmouth, Gerald D. and his wife Linda DeVeer of Tewksbury and Kathleen and her husband Bill Daly of Falmouth, six cherished grandchildren; Jacqueline Heaton of Litchfield, New Hampshire, Gerald DeVeer of Northfield, New Hampshire, R. Scott DeVeer of Tewksbury, Beth Balon of North Carolina, Mark DeVeer of Montana and Will Daly of Chicago, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Daniel Fitzgibbons.
Her funeral was from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Saturday, January 5, 2008, at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends were most welcome to attend. Visiting hours were Friday, January 4, 2008, from 3 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
