Obituary

Peter E. Spadafora passed away on December 31, 2007. He was 93 years old.

Born and raised in Melrose, Peter attended Melrose schools where he played hockey and football. He was a longtime resident of Wakefield after marrying Marion (Guttadauro) Spadafora, his loving wife of 69 years. He was a Gunners Mate 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Following his service in the Navy, Peter worked as a shipping supervisor before retiring in the mid-sixties. While retired, he enjoyed a wonderful life traveling between New Hampshire and Florida and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his loving wife Marion, Peter leaves his two children, David Spadafora and his wife Ann of Peabody and Gail Sears and her husband Kenneth of Newburyport. He was the dear brother of Lorraine Keyser and the late William, Dominic “Gomie” and Bernard “Nana” Spadafora, Helen Hurley, Dorothy “Dolly” Gennette, Gloria Umile and Louis Spadafora. Peter was the cherished grandfather of Jason Fortier, Jamie Dalton, Ryan Fortier and Jon Spadafora and also 5 great-grandchildren. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The Funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Thursday, January 3rd at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Avenue, Wakefield at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Wednesday, January 2nd from 5-8 p.m. Interment Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
