Dorothy A. (Roche) Cray 77 died Sunday December 30th at Brockton Hospital. She was the wife for 52 years of Eugene S. Cray, Jr.
Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ann (Downey) Roche. Raised and educated in Dorchester she was a graduate of Dorchester High for Girls in 1947.
She worked as a secretary for Gilchrist Stores for many years.
A Whitman resident for 47 years she was a member of the Holy Ghost Church.
Dorothy was an avid bowler, and loved Bingo and jigsaw puzzles.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughters; Donna L. Dubay of Virginia, Patricia A. Knowles of Marshfield, and Christine Hannon of Whitman, her brother David Roche of Sharon, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Richard and Joseph Roche.
Her funeral will be held Thursday January 3rd at 9:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 10 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday January 2nd from 2-4 & 7-9.
