Obituary

Philip D. Rubini, 86 of Walpole died December 30 in the Maples Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham.
Born in Walpole, December 19, 1921 the son of the late Frank and Elisa (Penza) Rubini, Mr. Rubini was a lifelong Walpole resident.
Mr. Rubini was a 1940 graduate of Walpole High School where he excelled at Basketball. Mr. Rubini was an avid sports fan through out his life of all local and Boston sports teams.
Mr. Rubini had worked for the New York and New Haven railroad for many years.
He had also been an usher years ago, in the Elite Movie Theater in Walpole.
He is survived by his sisters, Lillian A. Rickard and Frances M. Rubini of Walpole.
He was the brother of the late Daniel Rubini.
He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Rubini of Walpole, his nephew, Stephen Rickard, nieces, Judy Engstrom and Lisa Rubini and many great-nieces and greatnephews.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, January 3 from the Ginley Funeral Home 892 Main St., Walpole at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in South Walpole
Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Philip D. Rubini Scholarship fund c/o Walpole Co Op Bank 982 Main St. Walpole Ma 02081
