Sarah (Travassos) Barboza, age 95, born Oct. 3, 1912 passed away Dec. 30, 2007 at the Highlander Nursing Center. Widow of Manuel Barboza with whom she was married for 60 years. Daughter of the late Custodio & Carolina (Souza Machado) Travassos. Sarah attended school in Fall River before leaving to go to work at an early age, thereafter attending continuation school. She worked as a sewing machine operator before her children were born. Sarah loved taking care of her grandchildren, sewing, knitting & crocheting.
Sarah leaves behind 2 daughters: Shirley Le Page & husband Robert & Dolores Lavoie & husband Gerard, both of Fall River; 5 grandchildren: Donna Robillard, Wayne Moniz, Brian & Kevin Lavoie & Stacy Bigos. 7 Great Grandchildren: Justin & Brooke Moniz, Chad & Taylor Robillard, Devin Lavoie, Tristen & Skyla Bigos. Sister of the late Mary Medeiros.

Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. THURSDAY at 8:00 A.M. with a funeral mass in St. Michael Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling Hours WEDNESDAY 5-8 P.M.
