SPENCER: Charles E. McGuiness, 82, of 98 Maple St., died suddenly Friday,
Dec. 28 at his home.
His wife of 52 years, Irene B. (Peloquin) McGuiness died in 2002. He leaves
a son Stephen R. McGuiness and his wife Nancy of Fiskdale, two daughters
Michelle N. McCrillis and her husband Paul of E.Brookfield, and Ann Marie
McGuiness of Lock Haven, Pa. a sister Florence Carlson of Worcester, six
grand children Matthew E. McGuiness, MD. of Newton, Timothy P. McGuiness of
Fiskdale, Joshua D. McCrillis of Spencer, Andrew M. McCrillis of
E.Brookfield, Jennifer R. McCrillis of E.Brookfield and Emily McGuiness of
Lock Haven, Pa., four great grand children Megan Gadbois, Devon McCrillis,
Deanna McCrillis and Taina Penniman, several nieces and nephews. He is
predeceased by brothers William, Howard and Robert McGuiness and a sister
Doris McGuiness.
Mr. McGuiness was a customer service representative at Norton Co. in
Worcester for 25 years before retiring in 1990. He previously worked at
General Electric (Telechron) in Worcester and Ashland for several years.
Charlie served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII in the
Pacific Theater. He also was an Auxillary Police Officer for the Town of
Spencer for 15 years. He was a member of the Southern Mass. Police
Association and Our Lady of the Rosary Church.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of William and Florence (Lane) McGuiness.
The funeral will be held on Monday, Dec. 31 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON
FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of
the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Worcester
County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday, Dec. 30 from 2 to
5p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mary,Queen of the
