Max Bornstein of Chelsea died at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home on December 27, 2007. He was 81 years old.
Max attended the Boston schools and graduated from Boston English High. As a resident of Chelsea for many years, he was an active member in the Jewish community who served as Past President and Vice President of the Orange Street Shule and also served in the Minyan Club. He was an active member at both Congregation Tifereth Israel of Everett and Jewish War Veterans of Chelsea. Max was a proud Army World War Two veteran. When he was not serving the community, he was a retired shipper and worked in the greeting card industry.
Max is the beloved husband of Ruth (Charney) and devoted father of Jerrold Bornstein of Chelsea and Nancy Escalada, and Steven Bornstein and his wife Suzanne of Sharon. He was the loving grandfather of Jonathan and Daniel Bornstein whom he adored.
Graveside services at the Chevra Mishna Cemetery, Moray Street, Lynn on Sunday, December 30, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Rabbi Nochum Cywiak will officiate. Memorial observance at the Cohen Florence Levine Estates, 201 Captains Row, Chelsea, MA fourth floor common area, on Sunday until 5:00 PM, Monday 2-5:00 PM and Tuesday 2-5:00 PM.
