Obituary

Joseph P. Mollo, Jr., 79, of Fairview Drive, a clerk for the US Postal Service before retiring in 1989, died Thursday at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Lillian (Rizzo) Mollo. They were married for 56 years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph P. and Maria (Piacitelli) Mollo. He had been a resident of Greenville for 44 years.

He was an Air Force Veteran.

Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter Paula M. Mollo of Smithfield, a son, Chief Joseph P. Mollo, III, Smithfield Fire Department, his sons Joseph IV and Michael of Smithfield, his fiancée, Christine Tudino and her children Vincent and Stacey and a sister, Olga Villella of Johnston. He was the brother of the late John, Dalio, Dante and Everett Mollo, Clara Palmisciano and Betty Pinto.

A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Sunday 4-8pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville, RI 02828.
