NEW BEDFORD — Elizabeth Mary (Bosworth) Bentley, age 74 years, of New Bedford, died Wednesday December 26, 2007, at home. She was the wife of Gordon D. Bentley.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Calvin and Grace (Bucklin) Bosworth, she was a life long area resident. For many years she was employed as a secretary at Cherry and Webb Company, Saltmarsh and Liberty Market. She especially enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family-also visits to Foxwoods.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her son, Gordon B. Bentley and his wife, Kathleen and their children Brooke Elizabeth and Aaron Robert Bentley of Dartmouth; her son, Lee Scott Bentley and his wife, Cathy and their children, Amanda and Justin Bentley; her daughter, Gail Allen and her husband, Daniel and their children, Christopher and Bradford Allen of Mattapoisett. She is also survived by her great-granddaughter, Alexis Lee Bentley of New Bedford; her brothers, Paul Arruda of Ohio, Gordon Arruda of Florida and Wallace Arruda of New Bedford; her best friend, Carol Aurelio of Dartmouth and her pet dog, Max.
She was the sister of the late Calvin Bosworth and the late Norma Woodacre. Her stepfather was the late Henry Arruda.
Visitation at the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford on Sunday, December 30, 2007, from 5-8 P.M., with a service at the funeral home on Monday at 10 A.M., and burial in Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, Ma. 01701
