Margie Page Chavez, 70, of Fitzgerald died Wednesday, December 26 at Palemon Gaskins Nursing Home in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, December 29 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. Chris Dorrity and Sister Charlotte Breyfogle officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Ms. Chavez was born February 13, 1937 in Sumter County to the late Charles Monroe Page and the late Myrtice Dowdy Cooper. She lived in the community since 1978 from Albany. Ms. Chavez was a homemaker and a former nurse’s aide. She was a member of the Church of God faith.
Ms. Chavez is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, H.W. “Pete” McDonald of Hazlehurst, Charlie & Cissy McDonald of Clarksville, Lonnie & Leslie McDonald of Dublin and Watley Kevin Walsh of Athens; daughters & son-n-law, Phyllis & Kim Huber of Peoria, IL and Tonya Richardson of Macon; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brother; Buddy Page of Tifton; sisters, Jean Vickers of Rincon, Bessie Herring of Hattiesburg, MS, Harriett Nichols of Kingsland, Marty Burgio of St. Augustine, FL, Deborah Lanham of Waycross and Delores Gerald of Albany as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother.
