Mueller, Robert Swan Jr., 91, died Wednesday, December 26, 2007, in Dedham, Massachusetts. Mr. Mueller, formerly of Philadelphia, Pa. and Wolfeboro, NH, was born on July 30th, 1916, in Pittsburgh, Penn., a son of Robert S. and Anna Freeman Mueller. He attended the Gilman School in Baltimore, Md., and graduated from Princeton University in the class of 1938. After graduating from college, Mr. Mueller entered the United States Navy where he served as an officer in the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean during World War II. After the war, Mr. Mueller worked with Dupont until his retirement. Mr. Mueller’s wife of 64 years, Alice Truesdale Mueller, died earlier this year.
Mr. Mueller is survived by his son, Robert S. Mueller, III, of Washington, DC; four daughters: Susan M. Timchak of Lutz, FL; Sandra M. Dick, of Brookline, MA.; Joan B. Mueller of Pownal, ME.; Patricia H. Mueller of Jericho, VT; 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
A private Funeral Service will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, MA in January 2008, with a private internment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Mueller’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA, 01701-4688.
