Marcia A. Glenn, 83, of New Bedford died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007 after a long illness and while visiting family and friends in Pinehurst, NC.
Mrs. Glenn was born in Charleroi, PA, the daughter of the late C. Howard and Mathilde McGinley. She was a graduate of Chatham College and the Pittsburgh Hospital School of Nursing where she met her late husband, Dr. John W. Glenn of Ford City, PA. During World War II, they served at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH where he was stationed in the Army Air Corps and she worked as a civilian nurse.
After Dr. Glenn’s surgical residency at Boston City Hospital, the family moved to New Bedford in 1952. In her fifty-five years of residence, she was active with many organizations including the March of Dimes, the Catholic Women’s Club and St. Lawrence parish. She also worked for many years as a registered nurse at Sacred Heart Nursing Home.
Mrs. Glenn is survived by her brother, John McGinley of Belle Vernon, PA; her children: Michael of Lindon, UT; John of North Stonington, CT; Suzanne Tuck of Locust Valley NY; Mary Ward-Tumm of Washington Crossing, PA and eight grandchildren.

Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 4th at 11 AM in St. Lawrence Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
