Shirley Hampton, age 82, of Water Valley, MS died Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – N MS in Oxford, MS. Shirley was born May 29, 1925 to the late Samuel L. and Myrtle Tutor Davis. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS.
The visitation will be held Friday, December 28, 2007 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in Bethel Cemetery in Water Valley, MS conducted by Rev. Ken Izzard.
Mrs. Hampton is survived by three sons, Joe Hampton of Water Valley, MS, Wes Hampton of Springfield, VA, and Sam Hampton of Fairfield, OH; a brother, Billy Jack Davis of AR; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Hampton was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth C. “Skippy” Hampton on November 13, 2000.
