Obituary

Fay A. DeLong, 92 of Medford, died Tuesday after a brief illness in the Courtyard Nursing Care Center, Medford, MA.

He lived in Medford since 1934 and was the son of the late Zelma (DeLong) and Saunders DeLong. Fay was born and raised in Mars Hill and was very proud of his down home Maine heritage. Fay worked for 38 years at the job he loved as Car Inspector, Wreck Master and general Shop Foreman at the Billerica shops for the Boston & Maine Railroad and retired in 1975.

Beloved husband of Mildred M. (Marcy) DeLong. Devoted father of Robert J. DeLong and his wife Patricia of Townsend, Carole A. Marean of Saugus and the late Thomas A. and Susan J. DeLong. Also survived by 7 loving granddaughters and 5 loving great grandchildren. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4-8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
