DiTullio Alfred A. Age 86 Of Marshfield formerly of Quincy, Dec 24. Survived by his wife of 64 years Mary (Marani) DiTullio. Alfred was the last remaining family member of the late Frank and Lucy (DiSalvo) DiTullio of Quincy MA. He is survived by his children, Dianne Caristi-Keough, Cynthia Christmas, Mary DiTullio-Oliva all of Marshfield, MA, Dennis DiTullio of Grafton, MA and Joanne LeBlanc of Abington MA. 12 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren. Brother of the late Marie Chella and Arthur DiTullio. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Born in Quincy on March 16th, 1921.
Upon graduating from Quincy High School he enlisted in the Army, serving his country in WW II. He was wounded in action in the process of eradicating enemy forces from the countryside of southern France and received the Purple Heart for military merit. While in the service he married his high school sweetheart, Mary T. Marani of Quincy, Ma. Alfred loved the South Shore and lived in the historic city of Quincy 85 of his 86 years. He passed away Monday morning in the comfort of immediate family members at the home of Mary DiTullio-Oliva. Alfred supported his family building ships for Bethlehem Steel/General Dynamics as a pipefitter at the Quincy Shipbuilding Division. On retirement he enjoyed sharing his summer home in Falmouth, Ma with family and friends and wintering with relatives and friends in Port Charlotte Florida. He will be remembered by all that new him as a loving and compassionate man. His memory will be warmly cherished by all those he touched.
Funeral from the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean St (Rte 139) Marshfield Saturday at 9:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St Christine’s Church, Main St (Rte 3A) Marshfield at 10:00 am.
Visiting hours Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
Interment will be in the Blue Hill Cemetery Braintree.
