Obituary


Nancy (Griffiths)Wilde, of Laconia, NH formerly of Winchester, passed away suddenly on Dec. 24th at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia. Born and raised in Winchester, Nancy was the daughter of the late Leonard and Louise (Pearse) Griffiths. She was a graduate of Winchester High School and Vermont Junior College. A homemaker, Nancy was the beloved wife for 51 years of the late William Allan Wilde, Jr. While raising their 4 children in Winchester, she was active in many activities involving the children, including the Girl Scouts and the Cub Scouts, where she was a den mother. She was a member of the Winchester Trails Club, which works in conjunction with the Winchester School Dept. to educate young children about all forms of nature. She was also involved with the female version of the Shriner’s “Mini Patrol”, and the Crawford Memorial United Methodist Church. A resident of Laconia for the last 20 years, she was a member of the Weirs United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, William Allan Wilde III of Winchester, Carolann Lannon and her husband William of Methuen, Roger Christopher Wilde of Baltimore, MD and Jeffrey Pearse Wilde of Acton. She was the dear sister of Victor Griffiths of Greensburg, KY, Robert Griffiths of Miami, FL and Betty Haley of Atlanta, GA. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: William. Taighe and Tyler Lannon, William, Christopher and Aiden Wilde and her great granddaughter Kaylee Mae Lannon. A Funeral service will be held in the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Sat. Dec. 29th at 10AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4-7PM. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Weirs United Methodist Church, 35 Tower St., Laconia, NH 03246 or to the charity of your choice.
