Obituary

Ida "Mamie" May (Adams) Blanchard, 82 of Whitman died at the St. Joseph Manor,after a period of failing health.Born and brought up in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Cornele and Juana (Grafal ) Adams, and the step-daughter of the late Rosalia (Ortas) Adams.
Ida was a longtime resident of Whitman and attended the First Baptist Church in Whitman. She worked as an assembler for the M.B. Claff + Sons Box Company in Brockton for many years before retiring.
She enjoyed, cooking, sewing and was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter Nancy M. Dexter and her husband Ralph of Bridgewater, her son Walter W. Blanchard III, of Plymouth, her brother and sisters, Edwin Adams, Cordellia Connelly, Lillian Tripp, Edna McGlinchey and Helen Rivera; grandmother of Suzanne McLaughlin, Jolene Knudsen, Scott Blanchard and Ruthanne Blanchard, great-grandmother of Megan & Matthew McLaughlin , Anna & Jake Knudsen, Logan Blanchard, Mia Buglisi, Nicole and Kaylene Blanchard. She was also the sister of the late , David Adams, Leconte Adams , Walter Adams, Parco Adams and Marie "Toni" Hunt, and her longtime companion the late Elwood "Al" Prario; also many nieces and nephews.

Her services will be held on Saturday December 29th at 10:00 A.M. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Inc Plymouth Street (RT 58 @ the Rotary circle) Whitman, MA. Burial will be at a later date. Visiting hours Friday December 28th 4-8 P.M. Donations may be made in her name to the Old Colony Hospice, One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA., 02368
