McAndrew, James L. Sr. of New Bern, NC formerly of Hanover, Braintree and Dorchester, MA passed away unexpectedly on December 23, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen A. (Barra) of New Bern, NC, son James L. Jr. and his wife Chrissy of Hanson, daughters Kristine K. Flora and her husband Bill of NC, Kathleen M. Dougherty and her husband Mark of CT, step-son Mark E. Tolini and his wife Elizabeth of Quincy , brothers Thomas F. of NJ, Paul J. of NC, Robert E. of FL, Richard C. of Plymouth and sister Rosemary M. of West Roxbury. Jim is survived by 9 grandchildren. He was the former owner of McAndrew Saw Service and recently retired from the Carpenter’s Union Local 33 in Boston, where he was a long term member. Jim was a life long Red Sox fan, loved riding his 2002 Indian motorcycle and red Thunderbird convertible, and was working on perfecting his golf game. He was active in the North Carolina Garden Railroad Society, Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Bern, and the New Bern Citizens Police Academy. Funeral Service will be held at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury, Saturday, December 29th at 10 o’clock. Visiting hours Friday 4 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends invited. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
