Mary M. (Arakelian) Gazoorian died Sunday, December 23, 2007, in Beaumont Nursing Home of Westboro. She was predeceased by her husband of many years George Gazoorian. She leaves one son Richard H. and his wife Linda of Upton; 2 grandsons, Matthew and Kyle Gazoorian of Upton; 2 brothers, George Arakelian of Worcester and Gregory Arakelian of Auburn; 2 sisters, Charlotte Ghiz of Worcester and Alice Lacey of Abilene, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Archie and Arthur. Mary was born in Worcester, daughter of Krikor and Anna Arakelian and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She was Past President of both the Worcester Women’s and Worcester Women’s Republican Clubs. Mary served on the Republican City Committee and was a Delegate to the State and National Conventions. She volunteered at Assumption College for 30 years and served as Treasurer of the Worcester Ballet Society. For 40 years she was employed by various organizations as a Market Research Director.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 29, at 11 a.m. in Wesley United Methodist Church, 114 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, December 28, from 4-7 p.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester.
