Obituary

Brunaccini, Joseph L. age 75, died at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford, on January 17, after a lengthy illness. He was the loving husband of the late Charlotte A. (Walter) Brunaccini.

He was born in Medford, January 11, 1928, a son of the late Charles J. and Julia P. (Bruno) Brunaccini. A lifelong resident of Medford, he was employed as a butcher for Sage’s in Harvard Square for over 40 years until his retirement in 1994. He was also the Medford Park Commissioner for several years.

Joseph was enlisted in the Navy during the Korean War. He served on the USS Charles S. Sperry.

Throughout his life, Mr. Brunaccini, donated his time and energy to numerous organizations. He was the founder of the United Medford Youth Commission and the Medford Youth Council. He also established a youth center at Medford High SchoolJoseph loved fishing, bowling, camping and traveling as well as mountain climbing.

Mr. Brunaccini was a communicant as well as a very active member of the Grace Episcopal Church of Medford. Joseph was a Vestryman and a member of the E.Y.C. (Episcopal Young Church Members). He was a member of the Outreach program and he also donated his energies at the church fairs, and the church suppers.

He is the loving father of Leslie C. Brunaccini of Medford, Janise M. and her husband Benjamin P. Hurley of Wilmington, Lisa E. and her husband Stephen R. Russell of Medford and the late Lawrence C. Brunaccini. Devoted brother of Charles Brunaccini of Middleton, Lawrence Brunaccini of Stoneham, Beatrice Moynihan of Newburyport and the late Robert Brunaccini. Cherished grandfather of Michael P. and Melissa D. Hurley and Dionne H. and Jacquelyn M. Russell. Dear great-grandfather of Allison A. Hurley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be celebrated in the Grace Episcopal Church, 160 High Street, Medford, Wednesday, at 11:00 AM Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM Interment, Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
