Salem, NH – John M. Balavitch, Jr. 52, died December 20, 2007 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
John was the son of John M. Sr. and Anastasia (Zok) Balavitch. He was born and educated in Lawrence. He was a graduate of Lawrence High School and attended Northeastern University as well as Merrimack College.
John retired from First Essex Savings Bank in Lawrence as Assistant Vice President.
Mr. Balavitch was an attendant of Mary Queen of Peace Church of Salem, NH and belonged to various bankers organizations.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years Carolyn (Kudla) Balavitch and two children; Lauren N. and her husband Christopher McCarthy of Methuen and Stacy L. Balavitch of Salem, NH, one sister Diane Banda of San Francisco, two nieces, two nephews, one great niece and one great nephew and one uncle, Wasil Zok of Lawrence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday morning at 10:30 A.M. in Mary Queen of Peace Church of Salem with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
