Thelma R. Smoke, 78, of Derry, NH died Friday December 21, 2007 at the Parkland Medical Center, Derry. She was born in Boston, MA on August 29, 1929, the daughter of Robert F. and Ruth (Strickland) Beardsley. Mrs. Smoke was a Derry resident for the past 35 years, formerly living in Hogansburg, NY. She enjoyed playing bingo.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Burns of East Taunton, MA, two grandchildren and several sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert W. Smoke.
Following cremation, there are no services scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Children’s Hospital Boston, earmarked “For Renal Division”, c/o Michelle Wall, Children’s Hospital Trust, 1 Autumn Street, #731, Boston, MA 02215-5301. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
