Obituary

DUDLEY – Clarice (Gadoury) McKinstry, 91, died at 150 Main Street on Saturday, December 22, after a brief illness. She was born in Dudley, Massachusetts, the daughter of Emilien and Roseanna (St. Martin) Gadoury, and lived her entire life in Dudley. Mrs. McKinstry graduated from St. Anne Elementary School and Bartlett High School in Webster.

Mrs. McKinstry was predeceased by her husband, Alfred H. McKinstry, Jr., and by her brothers Emilien Jr., Henry J., and Leonard J. Gadoury and her sisters Antoinette Brisbois, Lillian G. Dwyer, Sr. M. Rose Lillian, S.S.A., and Rita Morin McNeil.

Mrs. McKinstry is survived by her daughter, Dr. Diane L. McKinstry, of St. Petersburg, Florida, her brother Ernest J. Gadoury, of Las Vegas, Nevada, her sister Sister Rose Clarisse Gadoury S.S.A. of Marlborough, Massachusetts, numerous nieces and nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews, and friends.

Mrs. McKinstry served in various business, management, and bookkeeping positions, and retired from the Town of Dudley Water Department after several years of service as clerk.

Mrs. McKinstry was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Webster, and active member of Les Dames de Sainte-Anne, Webster Women’s Club, Dudley Senior Center, the Silver Dippers, and a member of the Mohegan CRS Bowling Team well into her 90th year. She was a lover of life, and found great satisfaction and joy in relationships, in reading, in traveling, and in achieving proficiency in the various arts and crafts. Clarice will be missed by all who loved and admired her, and she will be remembered for her affection, concern, generosity, loyalty, and deep religious faith.


The funeral will be held Thursday, December 27, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster, with a Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St., Webster. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on the 27th. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery on January 2. Flowers may be sent or donations made to the Pearle L. Crawford Memorial Library Fund, PO Box 184, Dudley, MA 01571-0184.
