Frederick F. Lombard, age 85, died Thursday morning, Dec. 13, surrounded by his family at a local healthcare facility in Lowell following a long illness. For sixty years, he was the beloved husband of Ruth (Briere) Lombard.
He was born in Barre, VT on May 8, 1922, the son of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Scott) Lombard. Fred was a lifelong resident of Lowell and was a communicant of the Holy Family Parish. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a machinist with Corenco in S. Lowell for 35 years. Fred enjoyed ice skating, playing horse shoes, family get togethers and cookouts. He also enjoyed skiing, snow sledding, fishing and playing softball with his family and was an avid Red Sox fan for many years. Fred was a proud Foster father of several children thru World Vision for 25 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by six daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and the late Joe Keefe of Allenstown NH, Mary and Frank Juscazk of Pelham, NH, Jeannie and Sal Santos of Hudson, NH, Linda and Marty Cormier of Lowell, Celeste and Derek Desmarais of Derry, NH and Carol and Robert Dufresne of Hudson, NH; nine sons and daughters-in-law, Frederick and Denise Lombard Jr. of Barnstead, NH, Robert Lombard of Florida, Steve and Barbara Lombard, Richard and Debra Lombard, all of Allenstown, NH, Michael and Cheryl Lombard and Daniel Lombard, all of Lowell, Dennis Lombard of Allenstown, Ronald Lombard of Boston and Patrick and Jennifer Lombard of Derry, NH; a sister, a sister Agnes Emerson of Williamstown VT; 41 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He also was the father of the late David and Jerry Lombard and grandfather of the late Melissa Lombard and great grandfather of late Savanah Surrette.
Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, on Monday, Dec. 17 from 4 to 8pm. Funeral Tuesday morning with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:30 am at Holy Family Parish, 90 Chamberlain St., S. Lowell. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.
