Peabody: Irene M. (Laporte) Morin age 90 a resident of Brooksby Village in Peabody, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at the Renaissance Gardens following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late George E. ‘Joe’ Morin.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Napoleon and Corine (Tremblay) Laporte. Shortly after she and Joe married, the couple moved to New Jersey, where they were residents of Oakland for over 40 years. Irene and her husband moved back to the North Shore 7 years ago to be closer to family members.
Irene is survived by 2 sisters: Yvonne Banville and Jeanne Levesque both of Beverly, a brother Henry Laporte also of Beverly and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Arthur Laporte and her sisters Jacqueline Laporte and Theresa Turcotte.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Wednesday, December 26, 2007, at 10:30 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem followed by her funeral mass at 11 am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, [RT 114] on the Salem / Peabody line. There will be an hour of visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 am, preceding her funeral. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
