Gladys M. (Vaughn) Bennett, 90, of New Bedford died December 21, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Middleboro, the daughter of the late Henry and Florence (Hunt) Vaughn, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Mrs. Bennett was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
She enjoyed cooking, Bingo and most of all being with her family.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Eva Dimond-Harris of North Ft. Myers, FL and Mary Barbosa of New Bedford; 7 sons, Robert Dimond of Tacoma, WA, Richard Dimond of Martha's Vineyard, John Bennett of Acushnet, David Bennett of Fairhaven, Michael Bennett, Lloyd Bennett and William Bennett, all of New Bedford; a brother, Howard Vaughn of Wareham; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Gale Heyes, James Diamond and Linda Pike.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 27th at 10 AM in the First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday, December 26th from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
