New Bedford - Violet Dias, age 75 years, died Thursday, December 20, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a long illness. She was the mother of Sharon Lee Rocha and mother-in-law of Paul Rocha of Dartmouth, grandmother of Kerry Bianco of Florida and Keith Rocha of Dartmouth, great grandmother of Kayla and Nathan Bianco, sister of Virginia Mosher of Dartmouth, longtime companion of Robert Borges of Dartmouth and she is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dias was the sister of the late Lillian Kingan and John Rezendes Jr.
Mrs. Dias was a daughter of the late Mary (Vieira) and John Rezendes and granddaughter of the late Margaret and Joseph Vieira. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all her life.
Mrs. Dias' funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., Thursday at 8:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St Anne’s Church in Fall River at 10 A.M. Visiting hours will be Wednesday evening from 5-8 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery.
