Israel Barney Karfin, 92, a lifelong resident of Chelsea entered into rest on December 17, 2007 at the Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett.
Born in Chelsea, the son of the late Joseph & Sarah (Rappaport) Karfin, he was raised & educated in Chelsea & a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School in Boston. He was employed for many years as a printer at the Rustcraft Greeting Card Company in Dedham, & then as a manager of a cigar stand at Logan International Airport. He was a member of the Pressman’s Union.
Mr. Karfin is survived by his niece, Beatrice Morse of Boston.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2007 at 10:00 AM in the Polonne Cemetery, Baker St. West Roxbury. Rabbi Nochum Cywiak of Cong. Agudos Shalom & Cong. Ahavas Achim Anshe Sfard will officiate.
