Lester E. Richardson Jr., 78, of Erlin Terrace, Tewksbury, MA, died Friday, January 17, 2003, at the Saints Memorial Hospital in Lowell, MA after a lengthy illness. He was born in Londonderry, NH on April 12, 1924, a son of the late Lester and Ruby (Annis) Richardson. He was raised in Londonderry before moving to Manchester where he lived for many years. He had resided in the Blaire House in Tewksbury for the past several years. He was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, Class of 1942, and a graduate of UNH in Durham, Class of 1954. Mr. Richardson served with the US Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post #2 in Manchester, NH.
He is survived by two sister-in-laws, Doris Richardson of Shelton, WA, Gladys Richardson of Derry, NH, 12 nieces and nephews. He will be fondly remembered by staff and residents of the Blaire House. He was predeceased by two brothers, William Richardson in 1977 and Harry Richardson in 1999.
There are no calling hours. Private graveside services will be held at Sunnyside Cemetery, Londonderry in the Spring. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling arrangements.
