Russell G. Boudreau, Sr., 91

Dateline: Norton, MA

Russell G. Boudreau, Sr., 91, a lifelong resident of Norton died on Friday December 21, 2007 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Sylvia) Boudreau.
Born in Chester, Penn. on March 28, 1916 he was a son of the late George and Beatrice (Worthley) Boudreau
He grew up in Norton and was a1934 graduate of Norton High School. He served in the United States Army during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946 with the rank of Technician Third Grade.
Mr. Boudreau was a retired Calibrator having worked for the Foxboro Co. in Foxboro for over 25 years prior to retiring. He had formerly been employed at the former Talbot’s Woolen Mill in Norton where he was a supervisor.
A member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Norton Russell was also a member of both the Norton VFW Post 8049 and the Lieutenant Harold A. Healy American Legion Post 222. He was a member of the Foxboro Co. 10 year and 25 year clubs
He was a former coach for the Norton Little League Association and when younger was a pitcher for the AAA Baseball Team in Attleboro where he received the nickname of “Lefty” for his exceptional pitching skills, he also enjoyed bowling but most of all spending time with his loving family and attending his grandson’s baseball games were his greatest pleasures.
Besides his beloved wife he is survived by his devoted children; Alice M. Boudreau and Russell G. “Butch” Boudreau, Jr. and his wife Ann all of Norton, his cherished grandchildren; Joseph Poirier and Stephen Poirier both of Mansfield and Rachel Boudreau, Melody Boudreau and Russell George Boudreau, III all of Norton.
Private funeral services will be held on Monday December 24th at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St.(Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will follow in the Norton Common Cemetery, Norton.
