Obituary

Jeannette L. Desmarais, 79, of Hawthorne Cir., Woonsocket, died Thursday at Holiday Nursing Home in Lincoln. She was the wife of the late Roland A. Desmarais.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late John B. and Hectorine (St. Germaine) Parent. She lived most of her life in Woonsocket, and resided for several years in Manville.
Mrs. Desmarais was the co-owner with her late husband of the former Roland Desmarais Auto Body Shop for many years. She also worked as an accounting clerk at Woonsocket City Hall until her retirement in 1989. In her earlier years she worked for the Woonsocket Dress Co. as a seamstress.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Italian Working Men’s Club. She enjoyed bowling, camping at the Cape, going to the beach, and was and avid Red Sox fan and loved her game shows.
She is survived by a daughter, Lorraine J. Peloquin, and her husband Henry , of Woonsocket, two granddaughters, Kelly Watier, of Woonsocket, and Karen Watier, of NY, two step-granddaughters, Cindy Degrange, of North Smithfield, and Henry Peloquin, Jr., of Woonsocket. She is also survived by a nephew, and 3 step great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Yvette Infantolino.
Her funeral will be Saturday at 9:30am from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am St. James Church, Division St., Manville. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are Friday (TONIGHT) from 6-8 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Woonsocket Meals on Wheels.
