Obituary

Mr. Nicholas “Nick” Capezzuto, 88 of Medford died on Tuesday in Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford following a brief illness. Beloved husband of Catherine (Ititano) Capezzuto with whom he shared more than 59 years of marriage.
Born in East Boston, son of the late Benedetto and Louise (Petrillo) Capezzuto, he is a graduate of East Boston High School, class of 1937.
Mr. Capezzuto is a veteran of the U. S. Army and served as a T/Sgt during WWII. A longtime employee of the M.B.T.A. he began his career as a bus driver. He later worked until retirement in the money counting division.
A Medford resident for over 52 years, he was an avid reader. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards, watching games shows and political debates. He was a big fan of local softball games and rarely missed one. It has been said that dinner itself revolved around game schedules.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter Karen Mason and her husband Kenneth of Wilmington, 2 sons, Edward Capezzuto and his wife Deborah of Westford, Steven Capezzuto and his wife Frances of Tewksbury. Loving grandfather of Steven, David, Daniel, Laurie and Michele Capezzuto, Charles Nickerson; Brian and James Mason. Also survived by 6 great grandchildren. Brother of the late John, Joseph, Carmen, Benedetto, Pasquale, Anthony, James and Antonia Capezzuto, Theresa Quarterone and Netta Lunetta. Funeral from Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 10 am followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 11: am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nick’s name may be sent to North Shore A.R.C. 64 Holten Street, Danvers MA. 01923.
