Obituary

Albert Flaherty, 86 of Woburn, died Friday in the East Village Nursing Home Lexington.

Born in Woburn, he was the son of the late Martin and the late Julia (Connolly) Flaherty. Mr. Flaherty lived in Woburn throughout his life. He attended Woburn Public Schools, and was a graduate of Woburn High School.

After graduating high school he worked at Beggs & Cogg for a few years prior to the Navy. After the war he was a familiar face for many years as a custodian at the Woburn High School to the many students and faculty passing through the doors. He was a member of the American Legion.

As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be made in Al’s memory to St. Joseph Parish Debt Fund, 22 Central St. Woburn, MA. 01801 or a charity of your choice. Late WW II Navy Veteran.

He is survived by wife: Elizabeth A. Flaherty Woburn, MAson: Peter M. Flaherty S. Amboy, NJ.son: Paul A. Flaherty Lexington, MAdaughter in law: Eleanor Flaherty S. Amboy, NJ.daughter in law: Kathleen Flaherty Lexington, MAsister: Mildred Curran Woburn, MAsister: Martina Julie Flaherty SND Ipswich, MA. 5 Loving Grandchildren

Funeral from the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn Tuesday at 9AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 100 Washington Street, Woburn at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Monday 4-8PM. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
