WEBSTER– Theodore R. “Teddy” Hencinski, 83, of 310 Thompson Road, died Tuesday, December 18, in Webster Manor.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Mary L. (Mangan) Hencinski; a son, James M. Hencinski and his wife Susan of Duluth, MN; a daughter, Jane E. Herrion and her husband James R. of Dudley; a grandson, Christopher J. Herrion of Dudley; and a stepgranddaughter, Ana Lee Bixler of Duluth, MN. His mother, Victoria R. Pincince, predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester and lived in Webster and Dudley all his life. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1942 and completed studies at Worcester Junior College.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Hencinski co-owned Quality Pizza in Auburn in the 1970's. He worked for several local auto dealerships, retiring from Place Motor in the early 1990's.
He was an active member of Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Dudley, serving on many committees; he particularly enjoyed singing tenor in the choir. He was a member and past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus, Webster Council #228, and a member of the Fourth Degree of the Knights, Cardinal Wright Assembly #1924. He sang in the Greendale Retired Men’s Glee Club for over 10 years. He served the town of Dudley, first as a member of the school committee and then as a selectman. He enjoyed his trips “down south.”
The funeral will be held Saturday, December 22, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road, Dudley. Burial will be in Saint Anthony’s Cemetery. Calling hours are from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, Dec. 21, in the funeral home.
