Methuen, Ma. – Carmela M. DeRosa, 82, born on Apri 18, 1925, died Tuesday December 18, 2007 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born and educated in Lawrence daughter of Antonio and Margarita (Sassano) DeRosa. For 30 years she was employed as a Wirer with the former Western Electric of North Andover before her retirement in 1987.
Carmela was a former member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She belonged to the St. Theresa Rainbow Club, was an avid Bowler, who also enjoyed playing cards especially 45’s at the Lawrence Senior Center, and Bingo, trips to Foxwoods and her cat Lolla.
She was predeceased by her brother Angelo DeRosa and sisters Phyllis Longo and Theresa Palazzo.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Carmela’s family would like to express there appreciation to Merrimack Valley Hospice for the care and kindness to Carmela and in lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice 360 Merrimack Street BLDG 9 Merrimack Street Lawrence, MA 01843. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday morning at 11:30a.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street of Methuen with entombment to follow in the Saint Mary-Immaculate Conception Mausoleum.
