Mary M. (Maguire) Cain, 72 years, of Brockton, died Monday December 17, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Born, raised and educated in Jamaica Plain, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Sheila (Leary) Maguire. Mary had been employed at the Brockton Superior Court House and retired after many years. She had been a resident of Brockton for the past 44 years and an active daily parishioner and volunteer of St. Colman Church since moving to Brockton. She was a member of the Friday Coffee Club, the Red Hat Society, was an avid reader, loved to play Bocce, but most of all she enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren.
Mary was the beloved wife for 52 years of Fred Cain, loving mother of Donna Cain of Easton, John Cain and his wife Cheryl of Taunton, Fred Cain and his wife Sandy of Florida and Eileen Cain of Bridgewater; loving grandmother of Patrick and Joshua Goodhue, Rachel, Amanda and Cameron Cain, Taylor and Alex Cain and Julia Clancy; aunt of several nieces and nephews and sister of the late Kathleen Bohane, and Daniel “Joe” Maguire.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 8am. Funeral Mass officiated by her cousin Rev. Owen Lafferty in Christ the King/St. Colman Parish at 9am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater. Visiting Hours Thursday 3-7pm.
