Harry S. Huether, 93, died at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home on Saturday, December 15 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Esther C. (Baker) Huether. Born in Boston and educated in Roslindale, he was a resident of Canton for 45 years. Mr. Huether was a Firefighter for the City of Boston, working in Hyde Park and Scolly Square for 33 years before retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Local 718, the Massachusetts Permanent Firemen’s Association and the Massachusetts State Firemen’s Association. In his free time he enjoyed traveling.
Mr. Huether is survived by his children, Harry S. Huether, Jr., Boston FD (Ret.) of W. Roxbury, Carol J. Ciarlone of Bridgewater, Robert W. Huether of Stoughton and Barbara J. Winkler of MD. He was the brother of the late Helen Kisil. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held from the Trinity Episcopal Church, 1 Blue Hill River Rd., Canton on Friday, December 21 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
