Madeleine G. Beauregard, 77, of New River Rd., Manville, formerly of Woonsocket, died Sunday at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence. She was the wife of the late Robert A. Beauregard. She made her home for the last several years with her companion, Albert Petisce.
Born in Uxbridge, MA, she was a daughter of the late Edmond and Yvonne (Beauchesne) Courtemanche. She was raised in Uxbridge, and lived in Woonsocket for many years. She also resided in Florida for several years.
Mrs. Beauregard worked for the Tupperware Co., the French Worsted Co., and the A&P Market. For many years she was employed by Fandetti’s Fusion Co. until her retirement several years ago. It was there Madeleine spent many happy years with many wonderful people who saw her though some difficult times in her life.
Madeleine was a member of the St. Joseph’s Ladies Guild and was passionate about ballroom dancing.
Mrs. Beauregard was a Gold Star Mother, her son, Sgt. Richard M. Beauregard, U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne, died in Vietnam. Her brother, Maurice Courtemanche, died in WWII.
She is survived by a daughter, Lorraine M. Vaillant, and her companion, Roger Callei, of Woonsocket, a grandson, David P. Vaillant, and his wife, Danielle, of Woonsocket, and a great-granddaughter, Amberlee. She was the sister of Emile Courtemanche, of Pascoag, and Jeannette Howard, of Whitinsville. She was the grandmother of the late Richard M. Vaillant, and sister of the late Arthur and Hector Courtemanche. She is also survived by her godchildren, Tessa Courtmeanche, Peter Ayotte, and Steven Howard, and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Saturday at 9:30 am from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd, Woonsocket.
