Barbara (Sacks) Waxer, a lifelong resident of Revere, entered into rest on December 17, 2007 at the North Shore Medical Center in Lynn after a brief illness. She was 74 years old.
Born in Chelsea, the daughter of the late Edward & Rita (Zicheck) Sacks, Mrs. Waxer was raised & educated in Revere. She married Harold Waxer on December 20, 1959 & together they shared 48 wonderful years of marriage. She was employed by the Avis/Budget Rental Car Group in East Boston for the past 16 years, but her true enjoyment was spending time with her beloved grandchildren, Caroline & Alec. Mrs. Waxer was a former member of the Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary in Malden.
In addition to her husband & grandchildren, Mrs. Waxer is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Bradley & Christine Waxer of Kingston, R.I., formerly of Revere, & her brother, Mark Sacks of Ormond Beach, FL. She was also the mother of the late Edward I. Waxer who entered into rest in 2002.
Funeral services will be held in the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave. (Cary Sq) CHELSEA on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at 12:30 PM. Rabbi Frank Waldorf will officiate. Burial will follow in the Chevra Mishna Cemetery, Lynn. Memorial observance will be private. Those wishing to remember Mrs. Waxer may do so through memorial donations to a charity of one's own choosing.
